DIFP Website Help

Is the text too big or too small? You can adjust your default text size by selecting "View » Text Size" in Internet Explorer and choosing "Medium". See our FAQ page for more information on this site.

DIFP has worked diligently to make its site easy to use and accessible to as many citizens and as many browsers as possible.

Navigation:

At the top of each page is a navigation bar with links to the Missouri State home page, the DIFP home page, and pages to help you search and navigate the DIFP site, along with a way to contact the department.

Along the left side of the page are links to help you navigate quickly to the main sections and most popular areas of the DIFP website.

A "breadcrumb trail" is located at the top of each page to help you figure out where you are in the DIFP site. Clicking on any of the links in the breadcrumb trail will move you up one level in the site.

Accessibility:

The DIFP site is written in Extensible HyperText Markup Language (XHTML) in strict compliance with W3C specifications, and uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to add colors and positioning to the page. Consequently, this page renders best in current browsers, such as Firefox/Mozilla, Opera, Netscape and Safari, but should be readable in older browsers, such as Internet Explorer, Netscape 4.x and text-based browsers. Extra navigational aids are provided for these older browsers.

Plug-ins:

DIFP uses Adobe Acrobat files to provide some of our information, particularly forms and brochures. Whenever possible, an HTML version of the document is also provided. A link to the free Adobe Reader is provided on each page.

When any other plug-in is needed, we have tried to provide a link to that plug-in. For example, we'd set a link to Microsoft Word Viewer on a page that contains a Word document for download.

Site design

The DIFP website is designed to validate to the XHTML 1.0-Strict standard and the Cascading Style Sheet Level 2 (CSS2) specification.
